PHYSICIAN
Dr. Jonathan Bruner
Board Certified Physician
Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and
Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine

Dr. Bruner grew up in the Bloomfield Hills, MI area and graduated from Andover High School (now Bloomfield Hills High School).  He graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan School of Education with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry in 2002.  Being a third generation Osteopathic Physician, his grandfather and father are Osteopathic Physicians, he was drawn to Osteopathic Medicine from the start.  He believed in order to be a quality physician you must be a good teacher, which is why he did his Undergraduate training in teaching.   Following College, he graduated from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2006.  During his third and fourth year of medical school he did his training within the Henry Ford Health System.  He then went on to complete his Traditional Internship through the Henry Ford Health System as well.  He completed his residency training in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (NMM/OMM, aobnmm.org) through Michigan State University.  During his residency he helped to better teaching rotations, improve patient care and completed a research study, "How to find an OMM Patient".  His senior year he earned the title of Chief Resident and carried the increased responsibility of overseeing the other Residents.  After graduation, he continued to work as a Physician/Instructor with the MSU Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Department.  During his time there he became the leader of the MSU Statewide Campus System NMM/OMM Didactics, the Residency Director for the both the MSU and Sparrow Health System NMM/OMM Residency Programs and became one of the busiest clinicians in the practice.  Throughout the years he has worked on many research projects relating to NMM/OMM and done extensive work with journal clubs.  He has been a member and Chairperson of the MSU Osteopathic Practices and Principles Committee.  In January 2016, Dr. Bruner saw a need for NMM/OMM in the Metro Detroit area and decided to move his practice back to where he grew up.
